Generation Green
No Caption
Generation Green is a schools and community programme from British Gas, which encourages green behaviour, such as saving energy by switching off unnecessary lights, turning down your thermostat, installing insulation or switching to energy saving light bulbs.

Please try and help us reach our green target. Click on the Generation Green sign above to see how you can support our school and how you can donate green leaves.

A Background to our School
All Saints Church in Wales Primary School was founded in 1975, due to the wishes of the Parish of Cyncoed under Reverend O.P.D. Rees, to take a more active role in the education, both Christian and academic, of the children in this area.

All Saints is a Voluntary Aided School. This means that, although it is maintained by the Local Education Authority(LEA), the Church (through the Monmouth Diocesan Council of Education) has considerable financial and administrative responsibilities. For example, teaching staff are appointed by the Governors whose employees they become.

The school aims to provide an education which is Christian in both principle and practice and in accordance with the teaching of the Anglican Church. While the teaching of religion is according to the tenets of the Church in Wales, as would be expected, there is no atmosphere of indoctrination in the school.

Each day has a morning act of collective worship which is shared at times throughout the week with local clergy and sometimes with parents. ‘Christian values are built into the Ethos and teaching’. It is difficult to explain the ‘ethos’ of a school but easy to feel it. It can be felt in the welcoming atmosphere of the school, the shared care and respect of the staff and children for each other, the ways in which Governors and parents co-operate to provide the means whereby the School/Church building and grounds are maintained.
